Consultation Workshop among ASEAN Member States for the Development of the ASEAN eHealth Concept Note and Plan of Action
bwd  Set 1/3  fwd

7-8 September 2017
Diamond Hotel, Roxas Boulevard, Malate, Manila, Philippines

The Workshop was co-organized by the Ministries of Health of the Philippines and Indonesia. This Consultation Workshop built on the February 2017 Meeting of the ASEAN Healthcare Services Sector Working Group (HSSWG), where the Chair instructed the Philippines and Indonesia to consult with other ASEAN Member States (AMS) regarding their existing eHealth country initiatives, and together, develop a new and all-inclusive ASEAN eHealth Concept Note that will support and promote eHealth implementation within the ASEAN Region and ensure buy-in among AMS.

The Workshop engaged eHealth experts and decision/policy makers from the Ministry of Health of all ASEAN Member States, and key development partners to share their experiences and best practices on eHealth, review current strengths and limitations on eHealth in various strategic areas, analyze current evidences on cost-benefit and impact of eHealth both at the national and regional level, and determine the priority strategies and recommended action lines on eHealth for the ASEAN Region. Approximately, 25 participants from 3 countries participated in the plenary discussions and parallel sessions to discover how to best build a compelling value proposition for eHealth to support the attainment of ASEAN goals, particularly in terms of socio-cultural, health and economic domains.
